START YOUR JOURNEY TO A HEALTHIER YOU

We can do this together!

Semiglutide

Semaglutide (brand name Wegovy) is an FDA-approved medication for chronic weight management. It works by mimicking a natural hormone in the body called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which helps regulate appetite and eating behavior.

By acting on this pathway, semaglutide helps reduce hunger, slow stomach emptying, and increase feelings of fullness after eating. Many patients also notice a decrease in “food noise,” making it easier to make healthier food choices and maintain portion control.

When combined with a reduced-calorie diet and regular physical activity, semaglutide can support meaningful and sustained weight loss, along with improvements in overall metabolic health.

Semaglutide is typically prescribed for:

  • Adults with a BMI of 30 or higher (obesity), or

  • Adults with a BMI of 27 or higher who also have a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol

Summary:
— Mechanism: Mimics GLP-1 to reduce appetite, slow gastric emptying, and increase satiety
— Use: Approved for long-term weight management in individuals with obesity or overweight with related health conditions
— Benefits: Clinically significant weight loss, improved metabolic health, and better appetite control

Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide (brand name Zepbound) is an FDA-approved medication for chronic weight management. It works by activating two natural hormone pathways in the body—GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1)—which play key roles in regulating appetite, metabolism, and blood sugar.

By targeting both of these pathways, tirzepatide helps reduce hunger, increase feelings of fullness, and decrease “food noise,” making it easier to control portions and maintain a healthier eating pattern.

When combined with a reduced-calorie diet and regular physical activity, tirzepatide can lead to significant and sustained weight loss, along with improvements in metabolic health.

Tirzepatide is typically prescribed for:

  • Adults with a BMI of 30 or higher (obesity), or

  • Adults with a BMI of 27 or higher who also have a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol

It is also FDA-approved for the treatment of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity.

Summary:
— Mechanism: Dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor activation to reduce appetite, increase satiety, and improve metabolic regulation
— Use: Approved for long-term weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with related health conditions
— Benefits: Significant weight loss, improved metabolic health, and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in appropriate patients
